Baby Shower

We feel so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends to share in our excitement! My sister and aunt threw me a baby shower this weekend and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! They (along with my wonderful mother) worked so hard to make everything perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better day. I feel so blessed that so many traveled so far to be there and share in the celebration.

28 Weeks

We just had our 28 week Dr.'s appointment this morning. I took the the glucose screening test and hope & pray that I pass-we'll find out in a couple days. It was all worth it though, because we got to sneak a peek at our little boy. Here are the newest ultrasound pictures of our little man. He was quite the little wiggle worm this morning (probably due to the sugary glucola drink), which made it difficult to get good pictures of him. He's also a shy little thing-he loves to cover his face with his hands or turn away in every ultrasound.

Such a shy little guy-always trying to hide!

Furniture Blessing!

Yesterday I dragged Matt down to Vacaville/Fairfield to look at all things baby, as we don't have as many options up here. We made a fun day of it (ok, well...fun in my opinion), hopped in the car early in the morning to make the trek down. It was so good to figure out what we would be needing and deciding on colors/patterns/etc for EVERYTHING. There are so many options it's overwhelming! Who knew there could be so much baby stuff?! Needless to say, he was pretty tired by the end of the afternoon but stuck it out with me. We were even able to come home with the dresser/changing table we had been eying-which was an amazing story. My mom actually saw it first and called me about it, but it was a little more than we were wanting to spend. But, when we got to the store in Vacaville I decided to just check it out in person. The tag on the dresser said it was significantly less than I originally thought. Come to find out, they had mismarked the piece, but told me that CA law states that they have to give it to us for that price! HOORAY! The manager went in the back and told me he only had the floor model (which had scratches) and one on layaway. I offered to pick it up in a different store if they could hold it. He then mentioned that he would be going to the Concord store the next day and if they had one in stock, he could sell me the layaway one and bring one back from Concord to replace the layaway. HOORAY AGAIN! Concord had one. They haul out the box and I'm eying it wondering how it's going to fit in the back of my car. Getting a little worried-since they've been so nice and accommodating, I didn't want them to have to haul it back in the stockroom after all that. We decided to measure the box and the back of my car. It was cutting it pretty close! We decided to give it a try. Matt and three other employees hoisted it up and shoved it in. SUCCESS! Had it been three inches longer, it wouldn't have fit! We are so happy we got such a great deal on furniture we LOVE! What a blessing-a great end to a long day! :) God truly provides!

25 Weeks!

We're already at 25 weeks and things are still going great-despite the spike in pollens and allergies due to all the rain we've had. We're still going strong, runny nose and all (which is why it looks like I've been crying in the picture--I promise Matt didn't make me cry)! :) In fact, Matt's been such a trooper throughout the process. I couldn't ask for a better husband!
Lately we've been tearing our house apart to get organized for baby. He keeps reminding me it gets worse before it gets better. Our office has a small path to walk through to get to the computer and piles and piles of things on the floor that we are purging, trashing, and donating. Such a good feeling! Next step is getting baby's room ready. (Which is also a disaster of piles on the floor at the moment). It turned into an even bigger project when we realized we needed to make some room in the garage and get that organized as well. I will be so glad when everything is out of here and clean and organized. On top of all this, he's been moving and trashing furniture to make way for new furniture, which he will unfortunately will have to put together--which he HATES doing, but does it all with a smile! :) What a good guy!
